Google Unifies Messaging With Google Hangouts

Google announced today that they are unifying all of their messaging services in Google Hangouts, according to BGR.  The newish service will encompass Google Talk, Hangouts, and Google Messenger, and will reportedly also include SMS Text messaging soon.  The service will allow text, image, and video sharing, and is available now.

Facebook loses over 6 million users in one month

According to BGR,Facebook lost 6 million subscribers last month.  That equals about 4%  of their total user base.  According to the same article, however, the recently Facebook-owned network Instagram “picked up the slack” and added many users in the younger age groups.

According to Microsoft, the next-generation Xbox will run Windows 8 , albeit the “Core” version of the operating system.  This falls in line with Microsoft’s new direction of creating a common interface and platform between mobile, desktop, and now gaming computers.
